About Public Pool Guide
One place to find out what a public pool has and when it's open, before you pack the car.
Public Pool Guide lists city, county and park-district swimming pools that anyone can visit. Each pool gets its own page with its features (slides, lazy rivers, diving boards, splash areas), its rules, its season and typical hours when the city has posted them, and directions.
We're starting with Iowa and adding more states as we go.
Where the information comes from
We read each pool's official page, usually the city's parks and recreation site, and record what it says, along with where we found it. Every pool page shows the month we last checked it. When a city hasn't posted something, we leave it blank rather than guess.
We don't list prices. Admission and season pass prices change often, so each page links to the city's own page for current prices and hours.
Pool locations come from OpenStreetMap, © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License.
What we cover
Public pools with drop-in access, indoor and outdoor. We don't list private clubs, hotels, apartment or HOA pools, or commercial water parks.
Help us keep it right
Pools change their dates, hours and features every year. If you spot something out of date, please suggest a correction. We check every one against the pool's official page before we change the listing.
